Good Women

Here’s to Good Women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them.

What does it mean to be a Good Woman to you?  To me it means someone who is

  • a trustworthy person
  • a good listener
  • a good mother
  • a good daughter
  • a good sister
  • a good friend
  • a good employee or employer
  • a good provider for my family

If you are not trustworthy as a person you will not attract trustworthy people in your life.

If you are not a good listener you will never know what others need in their lives or what they truly think about you.

If you are not a good mother you risk the relationship with your children.

If you are not a good daughter you risk loosing the person who loved you first.

If you are not a good sister you will loose the relationship with your very first friend.

If you are not a good friend you take the chance of finding yourself totally alone.

If you are not a good employee you may find yourself unemployed.

If you are not a good employer you will find yourself with unreliable employees.

If you are not a good provider for your family you will have needy people in your life.  Being a good provider to your family doesn’t mean just financially, you need to also provide love, understanding, trust, and support.

Does God Believe In Divorce?

If you are a Christian who is contemplating divorce, you undoubtedly have many questions, and are feeling many different emotions.  In her book, “Does God Believe in Divorce”, author Cathy Threadgill delves deep into the Bible, to provide specific examples and helpful guidance about what God thinks about staying in an unhealthy relationship.

The author starts out by reminding us that “no on sets out to be a divorced person” and then discusses Life, Love, Marriage, Family, Women, Men, Children, and Divorce.  She also discusses Sinful Natures, Speaking, People, and wanting a Life Full of Peace.  If you are a friend who is going through a divorce there is also a chapter to help you help your friend.

On Page 33 she reminds us that the Bible says “But if the unbeliever leaves, let him so so.  A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace.”  1 Corinthians 7:13-15.  She then goes on to explain that a person actually leaves the marriage at the point they first lie, speak a falsehood, commit adultery, or abuse you, etc.

Changes in your life…

“For changes in your life to be of any true value…. they’ve got to be lasting and consistent.  Only then can you truly find peace and happiness.  If you are unhappy with your life or the direction you’re headed… STOP going in that direction.  Make a change… Even if it’s in small steps, initially! – Mike Carabajal

You want your life to change, well guess what…. you must take that first step.  No one but you can take that first step.  After you have taken the first step you can probably find others willing to help you with the next step.  But only you can take that first step.

Broaden your horizons

“You must learn day by day, year by year, to broaden your horizons.  The more things you love, the more things you are interested in, the more you enjoy, the more you are indignant about – the more you have left if anything goes wrong.” – Ethel Barrymore.

When you hear someone say that they love learning; it doesn’t necessarily mean that they want to remain in school.  You can learn something new every day without going back to school, it can be as simple as learning what the state bird is for your state.  Take the opportunity to learn a new way to get home, you never know when it will come in handy…

Bye learning you will growing, by growing you will become happier and more enjoyable to be around.

The Dance of Life

“The journey between who you once were, and who you are now becoming, is where the dance of life really takes place.”  — Barbara DeAngelis

Life is like a dance… sometimes you may be dancing a ballet while other times you may be at a rage.  At times you may be dancing the lead role and at other times you may be in the chores line.  One day you may be the instructor and the next you are the pupil.

Embrace the dance that you are presented with today…

Planted and grow every day

I choose to be planted and grow every day.  To nourish myself with fresh thoughts about the day I am in, and to look forward to improving myself Daily.

Only you can make the decision to grow every day, to become a better you with fresh thoughts.  It is not always easy to become a better person, especially if you have outside forces working against you.  But it is your choice to NOT attack, to NOT react, to breath deep and move forward.

How you want to be remembered…

Act how you want to be remembered, because you never know how long or short you are going to be here.

It is really hard to change the impression that others’ have of you and it never happens over night.  If people have a bad impression of you and you die tomorrow they will forever believe you to be a bad person.  Your actions need to show other your beautiful side.

My Children will see a Survivor…

When ask; how I can stay so strong after all I’ve been through?  I simply look to my right and then to my left and say:  My Children will see a SURVIVOR not a victim.

As a parent we teach our children by example.  Show your children how strong you are, not physical strength, but in trust, loyalty, emotions, and respectfulness.
