Leave the relics of your past…. Take only the lessons learned into the future.
To many times during the divorce process people want to keep different items or relics; sometimes it is the house, and other times it is the spouse. At times people will focus on a dish or a painting simply because it reminds them of a time or a place where they were happy.
What you need to remember is that those times and places will never be the same. The people will never be the same. The memories will never be the same. By holding on the the items you are holding on to your past. By holding on to your past you are not allowing yourself the opportunity to see the lessons learned.
Instead of bringing past memories into your future, take this opportunity to create new memories.
